You could get lost at sea swimming in all the new exciting magical information about Disney’s newest cruise ship Wish, before it sets sail in Summer 2022. Luckily, here at DVC Resale Experts we did all the research for you and have everything there is to know about our fifth (and probably favorite) ship right here.
Some would say… we are lifesavers. Get it?
Disney’s mission is to add storytelling and childlike wonder into everything they do, and they are pulling out all the anchors to do so with Wish. As mentioned this is Disney’s fifth cruise ship.
*Disney’s Magic
*Disney’s Wonder
*Disney’s Dream
*Disney’s Fantasy
And now Disney’s Wish, which is promised to be the most interactive and story immersing experience yet. Let’s start in the ship’s central location, Cinderella’s Grand Hall.
The Grand Hall
The Grand Hall was designed with Cinderella’s ball in mind and was intended for you to feel as if you are a guest with her. (Prince Charming and glass slippers not included.) This is where the fun starts. There is a grand stage where your favorite Disney characters will be making special musical appearances throughout the day. The Grand Hall also has a secret passage entrance where kids can “slide” their way into Disney’s OceanEars club.
Disney’s OceanEars Kid’s Club
Calling all Disney fans ages 3 to 12, we are talking to you! Disney has outdone itself with the newest OceanEars Club. Yes, there will be activities, sing-a-longs, and character appearances, but on this ship, Disney’s biggest fans will get to be a part of the story- that’s right, YOU. In the club there are three new interactive levels that will guarantee that your kids will be begging, “Please, just five more minutes?”
First up, Fairytale Hall where young princesses and princes can enter Belle’s library, take control of their ice powers with Elsa, and even let down their hair and let out their artistic side with Rapunzel.
Elsa isn’t the only one with powers in this club. Step into Marvel’s Superhero Academy, where you will transform and train with your favorite crime fighting heroes. Spiderman, Black Panther, Antman and Wasp will be there… will you?
And for every curiously creative kid that has asked, “How does this work?”, Disney’s Imagineers have created it’s FIRST interactive lab. Imagine and dream just like the Imagineers do. You will get to create your own amusement park and even design a ride that you can virtually ride in the lab. (Why does the cut off have to be twelve for this?) So what about the grown-ups? Disney did not forget about you.
Adults Only Club: ENTERTAINMENT & DINING
While there is not a secret passage entrance to the Adult’s only Quiet Cove, there is a spa, sauna, and infinity (and beyond) pool. The Quiet Cove is located on the Upper Deck of the ship and is the perfect place to catch some R,R & R (Rays, Rest, and Relaxation.)
Have these last two years on earth had you wanting a drink in a galaxy far, far away? Disney’s Imagineers thought so. Big kids ages 21 and older: The Star Wars Hyper Space Lounge is the place for you. The lounge will have a panoramic view of the galaxy and have space themed cocktails.
For those of us that have danced to “Tale as Old as Time” as much as your little ones have belted “Let It Go” in the car… Disney knows, and has dreamed up three Beauty and the Beast inspired restaurants, for the child in you that sang “Be Our Guest” into a hairbrush a couple decades ago.
The Rose: The Rose is an enchanting cocktail bar, that is the perfect place for a before or after dinner cocktail. We’d bet there is a rose infused cocktail on the menu.
Enchante: The grown-up version of “Be Our Guest” comes to life with Lumiere inspired decor. Our favorite candlestick (with the help of Michelin-starred chef Arnaud Lallement) will create a romantic dining experience like you’ve never had before.
Palo Steakhouse: Disney is updating a classic restaurant favorite with the help of Cogsworth. The menu will be the perfect blend of authentic Italian food and a modern steakhouse. Make sure to follow your reservation, Cogsworth is very big on being timely.
Fun for the Whole Family: ENTERTAINMENT & DINING
Storytelling is at the heart of all things Disney, even while eating! Disney has dreamed up three new immersive dining experiences that will entertain everyone in your cabin. Disney has been pretty tight lipped about most of the details for the restaurants (they love the element of surprise.)
Arendelle theatrical dining experience, Elsa and Ana will sing your favorite songs, while your family dines on American cuisine with a Nordic influence.
The World of Marvel is where your little superheroes will be sure to eat all of their vegetables while gazing upon a Marvel cinematic dining adventure.
A Hollywood style restaurant serving cuisine that has a California flare. Titled Hollywood 1923, 1923 is the year that Walt Disney Studios was founded, and we are so thankful it was. Wondering what shows will be on Disney’s Wish?
It’s hard to beat the classics, and Disney cruise show favorite “Genie of the Lamp: An Aladdin Spectacular” will be playing on Disney Wish’s new Walt Disney Theatre. The theater is an illustrious magical forest theme and in addition to Genie of the Lamp, it will be playing two new shows created just for this ship…which Disney is keeping a secret until they set sail.
Storytelling isn’t just the theme for dining and entertainment, wait until you hear about the upper deck of the ship! Disney’s mission is that you and your family will feel a part of the story and you’ll be able to do that in Toy Story’s Splash Zone. Splash, swim and play with Buzz, Woody, and the gang. Remember toys don’t need SPF, but you do!
The Imagineers have said they are most excited about their first ever attraction at sea, AquaMouse. AquaMouse is a 760ft slide that goes around the upper deck of the ship, while you are entertained with storytelling from none other than Mickey and Minnie! ( Did we mention that Captain Minnie is on the bow of the ship?)
Hero Zone is an active play place for the whole family on steroids, SUPERPOWERS. The futuristic sports arena will test your strength and speed in a family game show style fashion, hosted by Baby Jack Jack from The Incredibles. Parents, are you ready to do the Diaper Dash against your little ones?
LUNA will be one of Disney’s first immersive theater experiences, which will be providing entertainment and memories for the family day and night. Speaking of night, let’s get to the sleep arrangements.
STATEROOMS
Sleeping Beauty herself would approve of these accommodations! The cabins have all the luxurious amenities and Disney standards we know and love. The staterooms are Cinderella themed and have extra storage space for souvenirs… I mean luggage, and spacious verandas that overlook the sea. Disney’s Wish is the first ship in the fleet to have two story Royal Suites, complete with a grand spiral staircase. These rooms are absolutely stunning and the Imagineers are extremely eager to reveal them.
The Disney Wish ships out of Port Canaveral and sets sail to the Bahamas and Disney’s Castaway Cay this summer! Summer 2022 has so much in store for us and Disney once again has found a way to make all of our wishes come true!
