There’s always something new to see and do at Walt Disney World. Whether it’s that, the amazing food or the nostalgia of your favorite classic attractions that keeps you coming back, you’ll love Disney Vacation Club. Resale DVC, or buying from someone other than Disney directly, can come at a much better price. When you consider the two, the benefits of buying DVC resale are just as enticing! Let’s highlight some of the best benefits of buying DVC resale. While there are some restrictions depending on how and where you buy, resale is an incredible option and works nearly the same in many situations.
Top Benefits of Buying DVC Resale Instead of Direct Points
Disney Vacation Club Value
Being a Disney Vacation Club Member lets you book nice hotel stays at prices better than booking rooms each year. It’s regular to see many top resorts at Disney World at well over $600 and $700 per night. Historically, both cash stays and DVC points have gone up over the years. What’s really exciting to consider is when prices continue to increase, you’ve already paid for decades of hotel stays at a lower rate because you own DVC. The only thing that will increase is annual dues and that’s minimal in comparison.
DVC Resale Prices are Even Lower
On top of the savings you get buying DVC over paying cash, resale is even more cost effective. Depending on the property and time of year, the price of one week long stay booked with cash could cover a large portion of a resale DVC contract at the same resort but offer decades of vacations instead.
DVC Free Parking at Resorts
Disney Vacation Club Members enjoy complimentary parking on their DVC stays. That includes those who purchase resale DVC! For a while, deluxe resorts charged $25.00 per night for parking. During that time, Members did not have to pay to park. That was significant savings!
While it’s now free for everyone to park at Disney World resort hotels again, also remember that any time you’re a Disney resort guest you get free self parking at the parks. This includes DVC stays, no matter how you purchase. Daily parking costs at the theme parks could easily add a few hundred dollars to your trip. This DVC resale benefit will save you some serious cash over your stay and over the years.
Booking at Other Deluxe Disney Resorts
Buying resale at one of the first fourteen Disney Vacation Club resorts gives you the flexibility to book at the rest of the original fourteen DVC resorts. Deluxe resorts offer the best amenities, views and theming and resale DVC makes them more affordable.
Beyond the first fourteen resorts, there are resale booking restrictions. This applies to Disney’s Riviera Resort and those built after it. This includes The Villas at Disneyland Hotel and The Cabins at Fort Wilderness too.
Banking and Borrowing Points with Resale
The basic Disney Vacation Club standard operating procedures are the same with resale. That includes how you book your stays online or get help over the phone. Banking and borrowing points are a delightful, flexible part of DVC. Choosing to vacation elsewhere this year? Bank your points. Wanting to book a larger villa for a family reunion? Borrow from next year. Resale offers the same possibilities as buying direct in this way.
Home Resort Booking Advantage
Another one of those basic DVC benefits is being able to book at your home resort months before anyone else. This is especially helpful if you like to travel at a particular time and stay at a certain resort. Being able to book eleven months out can help you get just what you want.
