Can You Order Room Service on a DVC Stay?

We can get so caught up in the endless list of amazing restaurants at Disney Parks and resorts that we forget one of the most magical meal options of all. Room service is a timeless luxury. Character meals are a blast but what’s better than breakfast delivered to your room? (Technically the answer is breakfast in bed.) But can you enjoy this convenient option when you’re staying on points? Can You Order Room Service on a DVC Stay? Yes, and it’s more fun than you might think. Note we’ll use room service and private dining, as Disney calls it, interchangeably here.

Can you order room service on a DVC stay?

Sometimes there are slight differences between a hotel room rented from Disney and a stay booked with DVC points. You’ll be happy to know that you are able to order room service in a DVC room. As long as the resort you’re staying at offers room service, you can order it. After the 2020 Walt Disney World Resort closure, not all resorts resumed their room service offering right away. Some offerings still remain changed. In the past, room service was offered 24 hours a day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. What a delight to request a burger delivery after a long day at the parks when you just want to relax. Now, room service hours vary at each resort so check that information around the time of your stay.

For example, at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, private dining is available for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast hours are 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and dinner is served from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The Grand Floridian private dining features a delightful selection of menu items you can also find at the Grand Floridian Cafe. During breakfast at the cafe, one of the most memorable bites is the cheesy hash brown casserole. This is available through private dining and comes with The Grand Breakfast or you can order a side of it. For a little extra something, order yourself a Grand Mimosa too. This little number has the expected champagne and orange juice combination but also a splash of Grand Marnier. Another highlight of room service at Disney resorts is the ability to get iconic meals delivered to your room. Mickey shaped waffles are a Disney breakfast staple for many and they’re totally on the private dining menu. The dinner menu features favorites like the butter-milk fried chicken with smashed potatoes and an elevated shrimp and grits. The private dining menu will usually be a reflection of the restaurants at your resort. It’s nice to know you can have a slow morning in your room and still enjoy delicious Disney food highlights.
