Does Animal Kingdom Lodge have firework views?

Let’s say it’s the first night of your vacation. You get into town in the late afternoon and plan to check in, have dinner at your resort and watch fireworks from outside of the parks. It is possible to see fireworks from quite a few different places around Walt Disney World property. When it comes to resorts, it really depends on how close you are to the parks that have fireworks. So can you see fireworks from Animal Kingdom Lodge property?

No. While there are plenty of things to do at this resort, watching the fireworks is not one of them. Let’s discuss why, what you’ll love about this resort including the fabulous food and animal views from around the resort property and how you can watch fireworks from other resorts. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is actually one of the DVC resorts with the worst firework views. That’s not a bad thing to everyone. Some are looking for a quiet night time experience back at their hotel. It might be that you want to get the kids to bed early or don’t want to be woken up on early nights yourself. 

Why are there no fireworks at Animal Kingdom?

You can’t see fireworks from Animal Kingdom Lodge because there are no fireworks at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park and this resort is too far from the parks that have nightly firework shows. This is done by design to provide a safe and natural environment for the thousands of animals and many different species that call the Animal Kingdom theme park and resort home.

Can you see fireworks from Disney resorts?

You can absolutely see fireworks from Disney resorts but only certain ones. Hotels in the Magic Kingdom and Epcot areas are your best bet. Watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the Grand Floridian is always a delight. The marina and the restaurant Narcoossee’s both have lovely views and play the music. On the other side of the Seven Seas Lagoon, fireworks from the Contemporary are fun to watch and there’s even an outdoor viewing area on the fourth floor. You can see fireworks from the Polynesian resort where the restaurant ‘Ohana and many places near the water play the show music. All of these resorts have different spots where you can see the castle from too which is always nice. In the Epcot area, fireworks from the Disney BoardWalk are delightful, though the view may be a bit obstructed, and there are plenty of places to eat. 

If you love the idea of staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge but also want to watch fireworks from a resort, there are options. It’s possible to stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and watch the fireworks from a different resort. You can use Disney transportation to simply visit another resort to watch firework shows. This expands your dining options quite a bit. In order to park at another Disney resort that you aren’t an overnight guest of, you will need a dining reservation. Even with a dining reservation, on the busiest of days you may not be able to park at a resort to visit and dine. This includes peak and holiday times like Christmas week, New Year’s Eve and Independence Day.

How to get to other Disney resorts

Disney resorts provide all kinds of amazing transportation options for guests to use to get around property. How to get to other Disney resorts depends on where you are going. Each resort has transportation to the parks and Disney Springs. Most use busses. Resorts do not have transportation directly to other resorts. So it’s definitely possible to get from one resort to another but it does require some planning. The best way to get to another resort is usually to take a bus from one of the theme parks. Basically you transfer at the bus depot to be taken somewhere else. Some resorts also have boats, monorail or Disney Skyliner access.

Animal Kingdom Lodge Room Views

Even without firework views, Animal Kingdom Lodge offers views you won’t forget. Rooms with better views usually come at a premium price. Disney is careful about promising a special view unless they really mean it. Sometimes you’ll even end up getting a partial special view by surprise because Disney makes sure rooms with a designated view type have a superior view.

According to the Disney Vacation Club point charts for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, there are Standard View and Savanna View room categories. There are also Value Accommodation rooms and Kilimanjaro Club Concierge. Jambo House and Kidani Village have different savannas around them. Savanna view rooms are available on different floors, each offering a different vantage point. Imagine enjoying your morning coffee or some quiet time as giraffes saunter by.

What is there to do at Animal Kingdom Lodge

Uzima Springs Pool at Jambo House

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has two different pools, each highly themed and with a water slide. The Uzima Springs Pool at Jambo House is surrounded by the resort’s tall, ornate buildings and lush landscapes. Nearby you can visit flamingos or get another view of the Uzima Savanna where more animals roam. The Uzima Springs Pool area also has delightful, secluded hot tub spas. The kids can play at the Hakuna Matata playground here. 

Samawati Springs Pool at Kidani Village

The Samawati Springs Kidani Village pool has a water play area for kids called Uwanja Camp. This splashy playground has three separate areas that cater to different age groups. Observation Station is for children 4 and under. Kids can “climb through cargo crates, unscramble animal images and frolic through a gently bubbling geyser and shallow cistern pool—while their parents watch from nearby.” Departure Zone is for children that are ages 5 to 7 and has a leaky water tower and squirting features. Base Camp is for children 8 and older and has water cannons for them to play with.

Animal Kingdom Lodge Restaurants

This is one of the hotels with the best dining options at Disney World. Those seeking culinary adventure will find treasure here. Sanaa is located on one of the savannas at Kidani Village and has unique, international flavors. How much is Disney Vacation Club at Animal Kingdom Lodge?

There are two ways to buy Disney Vacation Club and the price depends on how you buy. One way to buy is straight from Disney Vacation Club. This is referred to as buying direct. Direct Disney Vacation Club prices are non-negotiable though there may be buy more, save more specials on resort properties DVC is actively selling. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge opened in 2007 and is considered a sold out resort. Still, contracts are available for purchase at this home resort when you consult with a Disney Vacation Club Guide. DVC direct prices continue to go up regularly, usually each year, and often without notice or reason.

Direct DVC points at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas are $210 in mid 2023.

The other way to buy Disney Vacation Club is through resale DVC. This is purchasing a contract from a Member who wants to sell DVC. The ownership is completely transferred and this is all seen as valid and official in the eyes of Disney.
