Disney Cruise 2022 Overview

Is it too late to plan a Disney cruise in 2022? Absolutely not! Disney cruises do go on sale years in advance but can still be booked as long as there is vacancy. If you’re booking a cruise that leaves soon, make sure to consider if you’ll need a passport, negative covid test or any other task completed first and the time it takes to do it. Whether you’re planning to sail with family or take a romantic getaway for two, we hope this Disney Cruise 2022 overview helps you dream of the possibilities and plan something wonderful.

Disney Cruise 2022 Ships and Itineraries

Disney Wish, Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream, Disney Wonder and Disney Magic Whereabouts

Many of the itineraries mentioned here are what cruisers can typically expect but Disney Cruise Line does sometimes throw in different cruise lengths and different stops at random. That’s especially likely when a ship moves from one home port to another.

Disney Wish

It’s not too often we can say this but there is a new Disney Cruise Line ship setting sail this year! As of mid summer, the Disney Wish starts sailings from its home port of Port Canaveral. This is the Florida port on the Atlantic Ocean about an hour from Walt Disney World Resort. The Disney Wish will take the place of the Disney Dream and offer three and four night sailings to the Bahamas and Disney’s private island Castaway Cay in the Caribbean.

Disney Fantasy

Also at Port Canaveral is the Disney Fantasy. For years now, the Fantasy has been taking guests for weeklong Caribbean cruises. There are two typical itineraries the Disney Fantasy rotates between. The Eastern Caribbean cruises stop at Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands and, of course, Disney Castaway Cay. The Western Caribbean itinerary includes Cozumel in Mexico, George Town in Grand Cayman, Falmouth in Jamaica and, again, Disney Castaway Cay.

Disney Dream

The Disney Dream will move from the home of Port Canaveral to Miami in South Florida. It’s possible to cruise from Miami when you vacation at Walt Disney World but it is much further away than Port Canaveral. Usually four hours by car or so. For the last half of 2022, the Disney Dream will offer five night cruises from Miami to the Western Caribbean. Within those Western Caribbean sailings there are two itineraries to choose from. One includes a visit to George Town in Grand Cayman and Disney Castaway Cay. The other stops at Disney Castaway Cay and Cozumel, Mexico. The Dream will also have three and four night Bahamian sailings that go to Disney Castaway Cay and Nassau, Bahamas in 2022.

Disney Wonder

The Disney Wonder is one of the first Disney Cruise Line ships and slightly smaller than the newer vessels. The ship has had some major upgrades in the last few years like the addition of the Tiana’s Place restaurant. The Disney Wonder will spend the rest of 2022 mostly cruising from San Diego. There are three, four and five night Baja cruises that have different stops in Mexico including Cabo San Lucas as well as a seven night Mexican Riviera cruise. The Wonder offers a few weeklong, Alaskan cruises out of Vancouver as well.

Disney Magic

The original Disney Cruise Line ship, the Disney Magic, will be here, there and everywhere for the last half of the year. In 2022, the Magic has various cruises that start one place and end somewhere else. The Disney Magic has quite a few Caribbean cruises out of Galveston but also offers Bermuda cruises from New York. There is also an opportunity to sail across the Atlantic on the Disney Magic in 2022 and Norwegian Fjord and British Isles itineraries. For official dates, itineraries and port information see the Disney Cruise Line website.
