Disney Lakeshore Lodge at Fort Wilderness

The Disney Vacation Club resort building that’s under construction near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort now has a name. Disney has renamed what was originally Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge to Disney Lakeshore Lodge. When will this new Fort Wilderness area hotel open to guests? This brand new Magic Kingdom area resort opens in 2027. Here’s everything else we know.

What We Know About Disney Lakeshore Lodge

Disney Vacation Club says Disney Lakeshore Lodge has the same footprint as the hotel originally planned for this spot. You may remember simple construction had just begun on Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge when Disney closed in 2020. Land was cleared but not much else had happened. The construction zone seemed to remain shuttered until mid 2024.

Disney has said Lakeshore Lodge is “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” There have been many incredible Disney artists over the decades. The company has a wide selection of nature related visuals to pull from including many animated friends.

Where is Disney Lakeshore Lodge?

The construction site for Disney Lakeshore Lodge has quite a few big cranes as things go vertical. You can’t miss it on the shore of Bay Lake if you’re taking one of the boats from Fort Wilderness to Magic Kingdom or the other way around.

Based on its location, we can assume guests of Disney Lakeshore Lodge will share amenities with Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. It’s very close to the boat dock where guests board vessels to go to Magic Kingdom. Lakeshore Lodge is closer than many of the cabins and campsites at Fort Wilderness actually. It’s also located right next to The Settlement at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. This area has Pioneer Hall where the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue performs, Trail’s End Restaurant, Tri-Circle-D Ranch, the Settlement Trading Post gift shop and more.

At this point we can presume Disney Lakeshore Lodge will have its own pool, gift shop, other amenities and, hopefully, dining. With its location, though, potential guests and DVC owners will want to consider Fort Wilderness amenities as well.

Is Lakeshore Lodge part of The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort?

Specific details about the Disney Lakeshore Lodge home resort classification have not been shared. It could have been an add on building to the existing Fort Wilderness home resort. At this time, The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort only has cabins. We saw that kind of expansion happen at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows when the Island Tower was added. Based on the name and information shared so far, it looks like Disney Lakeshore Lodge will be its own home resort, making it the 18th Disney Vacation Club property.

Is the Fort Wilderness area hotel DVC?

We are under the impression that the new Fort Wilderness area hotel, Disney Lakeshore Lodge, is a Disney Vacation Club resort. Nothing else has been confirmed but Disney Vacation Club has shared the initial details of the property like the name and theming. We have yet to find out if Lakeshore Lodge is an all DVC villa resort like Disney’s Riviera Resort. It’s also possible that it could have some villas and some regular hotel rooms. Either way, guests can book DVC villas online, just like a hotel room, based on availability.

Does Disney Lakeshore Lodge have firework views?

One of the best things about the upcoming Disney Lakeshore Lodge building will be the views. It’s completely surrounded by nature. Right next door, you can see fireworks on the beach at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. The music is played in this area and on the boat dock. Lakeshore Lodge is just next to this. If it’s 10 stories tall, you’ll definitely be able to see fireworks from many rooms at Lakeshore Lodge.

DVC Resale Experts Makes Magic

Can you see yourself visiting Disney World year after year? Staying at deluxe resort hotels can help you enjoy special benefits like early and late park hours. Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resorts fall into this category and can provide Disney hotel stays at fantastic rates. The savings are even better with resale DVC.

This is like buying a contract second hand. You take over a contract for an owner who no longer wants theirs. It becomes fully yours but the price is much lower than if you were to buy from Disney directly. Resale doesn’t come with all of the perks and flexibility but it mostly works the same. If you buy at one of the original 14 DVC resorts you can use your points to stay at the rest of those properties.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge joins three other Disney Vacation Club home resorts in this area. Two of them, marked with an asterick below, operate under the more flexible booking rules with resale.
