Walt Disney World has so much to do it’s hard to get it all in on your trip. When you’re a Disney Vacation Club Member and visit every year, it’s much more likely you’ll be able to explore outside of the parks on your visits. The theme parks and DVC resorts have a special holiday overlay this time of year with festive decorations and delightful treats. Disney Springs, the shopping and dining district at Disney, also gets dressed up for the occasion and is a delightful place to visit during the holiday season. Disney Springs Christmas 2021 decor brings a lot of the same treasured magic we see annually but also an enhanced Christmas tree trail.
What is Disney Springs like at Christmas time?
Disney Springs is usually very busy at Christmas time but absolutely worth the visit. There’s a reason it’s busy. Disney Springs has some of the best dining and shopping options, a festive atmosphere with lots of decorations, snoap and a wide variety of stores for holiday gift shopping.
The transformation into Disney Springs brought a lot of new dining options. Many of them participate in offering special seasonal foods. The Disney Parks Blog does a great round up with Disney Springs holiday treats and more. Over at The Ganachery there are wintery and Christmas time treats like the Olaf Hot Cocoa Surprise and a chocolate Santa Mickey Piñata.
The holiday decorations at Disney Springs are original, rustic, abstract and glitzy. There are quite a few visual styles of decor thoughtfully placed in the different Disney Springs neighborhoods. There is a tree as big as one in the parks placed in the Town Center area. It makes for a great photo opp with its glamorous, oversized chandelier ornaments and shiny accents. It also snoaps here throughout the night! You’ll find bejeweled deer, lights, interesting Christmas tree sculptures, sparkly, glowing bulbs and more trendy decorations all around the property. During the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World some of the shops have special decorations to celebrate that as well.
Disney Springs is also great place to shop for gifts. There’s just something about Christmas shopping in a busy, beautifully decorated place that gets me in the spirit. Aside from all of the specialty Disney shops, there are popular brands like Kate Spade and Sephora. Also see our article, what is there to do at Disney Springs, because there are a lot of stores and restaurants unique to this complex and some fun, small attractions and such.
Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll 2021
Years ago, after the name change from Downtown Disney to Disney Springs, a new holiday program was launched including a Christmas Tree Trail. All the trees were in one section near Earl of Sandwich and there was snoap and music. It was truly a walkthrough experience. In 2020, a change came about in order to prevent crowds from gathering on the trail. The trees were spread out all around the massive Disney Springs property becoming the Christmas Tree Stroll. The Stroll is back in 2021 and it seems like the trees are bigger! The Christmas trees are all themed to Disney parks, movies and characters and done in a magical style. This year’s line up includes: Raya and the Last Dragon, The Princess and the Frog, Star Wars, Black Panther, The Little Mermaid, Toy Story, Moana, Coco, Frozen, Disney+, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Haunted Mansion, Beauty and the Beast, The Walt Disney World 50th anniversary, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, The Lion King and Disney Jr. Similar to Epcot’s scavenger hunts around World Showcase, there’s a map with stickers for the Tree Stroll. This is complementary and the maps are available throughout Disney Springs. The back of the map actually has some great deals and coupons for your visit this year.
