Disney Vacation Club 2021 Annual Meetings

Disney Vacation Club 2021 Annual Meetings

The Disney Vacation Club 2021 Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors and 2021 Annual Meeting of the Members happened today at the convention center at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Disney Vacation Club is celebrating its 30 year anniversary in 2021 and Mickey showed up in his 50th anniversary attire to celebrate and kick off the meeting. A member of the DVC Resale Experts team was present at Walt Disney World to hear the updates and any announcements. Let’s go over what was discussed.

Disney Vacation Club 2022 Dues

Last month the Disney Vacation Club Proposed 2022 Dues were shared. DVC annual dues cover things like administration and front desk costs, taxes, housekeeping and more. The dues budget components were graphed out as Property Taxes 17%, Reserves 17% and Operating Costs 66%. At today’s meetings the 2022 Disney Vacation Club annual dues were as follows:

Est 2022 Assessment per Vacation Point Increase per Vacation Point % Increase from 2021
Animal Kingdom $8.24  $.16 2.0%
Aulani $8.67 $0.32 3.8%
Bay Lake Tower $7.08 $0.18 2.6%
Beach Club $7.54 $0.10 1.3%
Boardwalk $8.08 $0.27 3.4%
Boulder Ridge $8.15 $0.04 0.5%
Copper Creek $7.60 $0.02 0.2%
Grand Californian $7.48 $0.49 7.0%
Grand Floridian $7.01 $0.20 2.9%
Hilton Head $10.07 $0.10 1.0%
Old Key West $8.81 $0.45 5.4%
Polynesian $7.39 $0.33 4.7%
Riviera Resort $8.38 $8.38 0.0%
Saratoga Springs $7.33 $0.22 3.1%
Vero Beach $11.94 $0.71 6.3%

Reasoning for some of the increases were higher wages at beach resorts due to labor shortages and negotiating better insurance for cast members. Also the Grand Californian is having some renovations done in 2024 so more money will be put in reserves for that.

Grand Californian Operating Credit

It was shared that The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa have a surplus operating credit of $1.01 or 21%. The operating credit is related to 2021 and so was not included in the 2022 budget mailer. The credit will be reflected on owners’ 2022 Dues Statement and will lower the amount due.

Can you book the Star Wars hotel with DVC points?

Yes, you can book the Star Wars hotel with DVC points. It was shared at the meeting that at least 500 Disney Vacation Club members have already booked stays on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, the Halcyon, using points. Rates start at 295 DVC points per person.

Disney Vacation Club Room Renovations

As for renovations, Saratoga Springs Resort, Old Key West and the Polynesian rooms have all been updated. Saratoga and Old Key West also had lobby refurbishments and the Polynesian received enhancements to the porte cochere and monorail station. Boulder Ridge is next in line for renovations with a room refresh.

Other DVC Meeting Announcements & Details
