Nightly fireworks, unforgettable pool slides and forkfuls of food you’ll be dreaming about later are all part of a regular Disney vacation. Ready for more magic? Disney Vacation Club is the flexible, point based Disney timeshare that brings magic to its members year after year. We’re here with some prices you need to see and Disney Vacation Club deals you can’t miss!
The official website for the Disney timeshare says members can save up to 50% on future Disney Vacation Club accommodations with a membership. We see DVC resale contracts selling for much lower than those prices meaning the savings are even better. Resale DVC refers to a contract sold by a member. Buying a contract on the DVC resale market, versus buying directly from Disney, makes becoming a DVC member way more affordable. It’s possible to get deluxe resort hotel stays down to brow raising rates! Maybe annual stays at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort are closer than you imagined. Dole Whips at your home resort every evening? Sounds like a delicious dream come true.
Disney Vacation Club Deals to Consider
Disney Vacation Club Deals: Why Are DVC Resale Prices So Low?
First, let’s go over why the Disney Vacation Club deals are so good right now. The last few years have been a wild ride for Disney. In this current season, it seems that Disney Vacation Club is not purchasing contracts back through the Right of First Refusal process. Typically we see contracts at low prices, or at certain resorts, get purchased back by Disney instead of going to the intended buyer. There isn’t a rhyme or reason for these buybacks though we do speculate in our monthly ROFR DVC series to help DVC resale buyers. In the early part of 2023, Disney seems to be on some kind of buying freeze. Since there has been no minimum per point price that will get scooped up by Disney, lower prices can be negotiated.
That, paired with many contracts listed for sale, makes this an opportune time to invest in your future vacations. The current buyer’s market provides many options when it comes to home resorts and point values. Some day I’ll look into Disney Vacation Club. Some day I’ll become a DVC Member. The best ‘some day’ might be now! Where you purchase your contract, as in the home resort, and how many points you purchase also play into your final price. Some resorts just cost more due to popularity, location, transportation, amenities or other factors that make them appealing. Typically when you purchase more points, you are able to pay less per point. Contracts with higher point values usually come priced a little less per point.
You’ll Love Disney Vacation Club Resorts
Disney Vacation Club Resorts are usually the most expensive to stay at when booking a regular hotel stay. If you’ve stayed at any of the following resorts, you know they can cost upwards of $700 plus taxes per night. During peak times, like Christmas week, deluxe resorts can cost even more. Value and moderate resorts usually provide the most economic options but much more is possible with DVC. A small resale DVC contract can cost the same as a week long stay at a deluxe resort if you’re paying cash. Over the length of your contract, if you do the math, you might end up paying value or moderate prices for deluxe resort stays. The Disney Vacation Club resorts are the most luxurious, in the best locations and have amenities like spas, marinas with boat rentals and more.
Aside from the price, many DVC resorts have recently been freshened up or totally refurbished. We’ve seen makeovers at DVC resorts across the board with everything from the lobby to the rooms getting a new look. It’s an exciting time to become a member as big changes have been happening for The Walt Disney Company after the leadership shakeup that left fans cheering. Imagine staying at one of these favorite hotels every year.

Does DVC go on sale?
Disney Vacation Club technically doesn’t have sales. However Disney will offer specials from time to time. This is usually presented in a spend more, save more model resulting in a few thousand dollars saved for the biggest spenders.
One way to get DVC at what feels like a sale price any time is by purchasing resale DVC. This is the closest thing to a DVC sale you’ll find and with the best deals. Disney Vacation Club deals can be hard to find as the price of DVC continues to rise over time. It makes sense as natural inflation and sky rocketing Disney premiums go up.
Disney Vacation Club says membership costs start at $217 per point. This is referring to the the resorts Disney is actively selling. As of now that’s The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas and Disney’s Riviera Resort. The rest of the resorts, referred to as sold out resorts, may be priced higher or lower when purchased from Disney directly as shown below.

How to Get the Best Deal on DVC Points
The DVC resale listing price isn’t the final price. With resale DVC, it’s possible to negotiate with sellers. When you buy from DVC directly, prices are not negotiable. As we’re experiencing a buyer’s market with plenty of options available, it’s a great time to buy. To get the best deal on DVC points, you’ll want to purchase a contract in a buyer’s market. This means there are more contracts being sold than there are people looking to buy. It’s normal for markets to ebb and flow. When so many contracts are listed for sale, you’re more likely to find Disney Vacation Club deals that fit your budget and fulfill your wishes.
Add On Points and Take Advantage of Amazing Disney Vacation Club Deals
Are you ready for more Disney days? DVC Members love to add on points in different seasons of life. When you earn more vacation days, get a raise or retire, longer stays at Disney might be just the thing to celebrate with! Maybe you want to add on points so you can stay in bigger villas. Three bedroom grand villas are pretty nice. Staying at resorts with better views, or prime locations, that cost a few more points than your home resort is a great reason to add on as well. Having more points can open your vacation options.
Tip: Add on points with ease by purchasing a contract with the same use year as the one you already own. If combining your points is not a priority, having different use years can be great for planning trips at different times throughout the year. Also see: What is a Disney Vacation Club use year?
Sell Your DVC Points, Buy a Resale DVC Contract
Finally, if you’ve been considering selling your DVC contract to buy another, it might be a good time to act on that. Maybe you have a new favorite Disney Vacation Club resort and would really like the home resort advantage eleven month out booking window there. It could be that you want more points somewhere else or just less points at the same resort. It might work out for you to sell the contract that no longer fits and find another glass slipper in this buyer’s market. Take a look at our listings or talk to a DVC Resale Expert to discover what might be possible.
