So many updates and announcements come out of the D23 Expo when it’s put on every other year. This official event is hosted in Anaheim, California by The Walt Disney Company and presents an excellent opportunity to share news with fans. This time around, Disney Vacation Club Members weren’t treated to big updates but to just a few little glimpses instead.

Disneyland Hotel DVC Tower Named The Villas at Disneyland Hotel

The Villas at Disneyland Hotel is a pretty simple and straightforward name for the Disneyland DVC addition. And who doesn’t love uniformity for clarity? The Disneyland Hotel DVC tower will be the second DVC home resort at Disneyland Resort. The first being The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel just across the street.

The Disneyland Hotel DVC tower is much anticipated by Members and potential Members. Disneyland Hotel is in a prime location right next to Downtown Disney, is within walking distance of both theme parks and is quite close to the monorail station outside of the park.

So, what else do we know about the Disneyland Hotel DVC tower so far? The Villas at Disneyland Hotel will potentially open in 2023 and construction progress has the tower quite a few stories tall already. Guests of the Disneyland Hotel can’t miss it as the building is right next to the iconic monorail pool and very vertical. The Disneyland Hotel DVC tower will be located between the Frontierland Tower and the convention center at this resort. The DVC building is shaped like the letter L and has its own pool that’s inspired by an artist’s palette. Disneyland DVC rooms are decorated with inspiration from the animated classic Sleeping Beauty. Resale Restrictions at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel

With the introduction of Disney’s Riviera Resort, the fifteenth DVC property, some rules changed. It seems a new tier of hotels was started. Members with resale DVC contracts at the original fourteen resorts are able to use their points interchangeably at the other resorts. However, with Riviera, Members that buy resale there can only use their points to book there and not at other DVC resorts. Also, Members who buy resale anywhere but Riviera can not use their points to book at Riviera. From the wording Disney Vacation Club has used up to this point, it seems these kind of restrictions will apply to new resorts moving forward. This doesn’t apply to home resort expansions, like when additional DVC rooms were just added to The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, but these additional restrictions do seem to apply when a brand new home resort is formed.
