In the earlier stages of the pandemic, Disney put a temporary shut down to it’s infamous trams transportation system. The service would take guests from Mickey and Friends and Pixar Pals parking structures to the Main Entrance of the Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. The Walt Disney World Resort has slowly been introducing the trams back to its Orlando parks, but nothing had been said about when Disneyland would be getting their trams back. Well, Disneyland guests, grab a spot and remain seated for the entire ride, because February 23, 2022 the tram transportation system will resume its service throughout the Disneyland Resorts.
After the two year tram closure, Disney made the announcement last week that they are excited to reopen the guest favorite. The two year closure meant guests had to park and walk almost a mile each way before and after the park. We can safely guess that many children were being carried half asleep, worn out from Disney magic, and parents are probably the ones who are looking forward to the tram service most.
For most of Disney’s guests, this is THE start of their Disney vacation. The ride created that Christmas Eve anticipation feeling before seeing the Main Entrance sign and knowing you are about to create the most magical moments for you and your family. Some guests have even taken to social media with the memorized trams script, saying they can’t wait for it to get stuck in their heads again. You never realize what you have until it’s gone, and guests were definitely finding that to be true with the very missed transportation service.
Until the 23rd, Disneyland Officials have announced that there is a dedicated walkway from the parking structures to the parks, and also a transportation bus available in the Toy Story Parking Area for Disneyland goers. If guests still choose to get in their extra steps and walk to the park, there is an entrance on the Magic Key pedestrian bridge that will still be available after the trams grand re-opening. We are extremely grateful for the service being back in motion, and we can’t wait to sit back and enjoy the ride.
