For many Disney goers, the only exciting thing about going home is reuniting with the four legged member of the family. All of the magic and memories are priceless but sometimes you just miss your dog. If you’re in the parks open to close without a break, you may not want to bring your pet to Disney World. However, if you’re flexible on your trip, always take a midday break or would like to try something different, it’s possible to bring a dog to certain Walt Disney World Resort hotels. DVC and Dogs: Does Disney Vacation Club allow pets?
For the first time, Disney Vacation Club does allow pets but only at The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. This is the only dog friendly DVC property. These have been pet friendly since before the Disney Vacation Club takeover.
Does DVC Allow dogs?
DVC does not allow dogs at any other property as of now. It’s unlikely that Disney Vacation Club allowing dogs is the new norm. It’s more likely that the Fort Wilderness cabins home resort is an exception. It is already a very pet friendly location with a dog park. The accommodations are spread out, providing ample room. We don’t anticipate all DVC resorts going forward to allow dogs. Maybe we will see more at some point though.
What Disney resorts allow dogs? Dog Friendly Disney World Hotels
There are a few Disney resorts that are not DVC properties that allow dogs. There’s actually one hotel in each of the categories. For example, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is the value property that allows dogs. Disney Port Orleans Resort – Riverside is the moderate resort that allows pets. Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is the dog friendly resort in the deluxe category. Then there’s Fort Wilderness. It’s always kind of seemed in a category of its own. Now with the conversion of the cabins to DVC, The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort becomes the first and only pet friendly stay on points.

How many dogs can stay with you at Disney World?
Even though there are pet friendly Disney hotels, there are some limitations. You can have up to two dogs per room.
Can you leave your dog alone in your hotel room?
Some pet friendly hotels don’t allow animals to be unattended in rooms. Disney says you can leave your dogs unattended but for up to seven hours.
Is there a pet fee for a DVC stay with dogs?
Even though dogs are permitted when you stay at the Fort Wilderness cabins, there is still a nightly pet fee. This is in addition to annual dues. The cost of pet fees varies by resort.
Are pets allowed at Disney hotels?
The term “pet friendly” is often used to describe places where dogs are welcome. It’s less common for cats and other pets to be invited. Dogs are the only pets allowed at Disney World hotels. You may be able to board other pets at the pet care place on property.
Is there dog boarding at Disney World?
You can board your dog at Disney. Best Friends Pet Care is on Disney property, located near Disney’s Port Orleans resorts. It’s possible for your pet to stay overnight or to just go there for the day. There is a whole list of prices and options to accommodate your little friend. If you plan to go to the parks from rope drop to fireworks, boarding your dog for the day could be a great option.
Can you bring your cat to Disney World?
The pet friendly Disney World hotels don’t allow cats. You can, however, bring your cat to stay at Best Friends Pet Care. This on property pet sitting and boarding place does care for feline friends.
