Anticipating your next vacation is so exciting. Everyone loves having a Disney trip to look forward to! And having magic ahead of you can make the long days seem, well, a little less long. When you’re a DVC Member and one trip is coming to an end, you know you always have another trip ahead of you. That certainly helps with the post Disney blues! When it’s time to book your Disney Vacation Club hotel stay, the DVC point chart for the resort you’re interested in matters a great deal.
How DVC Point Charts Work
Point charts are helpful tools that enable you to understand how many points it will take to book a trip and plan out how to spend your points. The amount of points it takes to book a DVC villa depends on the resort, travel period, day of the week, room view and room type. A Christmas week, Three-Bedroom Grand Villas at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort will take quite a few more points than a Deluxe Studio at Disney’s Old Key West Resort any time in the slow season of September. Let’s go over the DVC point chart 2023 collection so you can see the different point values needed for different resorts, room types, views and more during this year.

Below you’ll find the DVC point chart 2023 version for each resort. Point charts are updated annually though some may have more changes than others. This is especially true when an additional room style is added. For example, when the tower is finished and the additional rooms open at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, we’ll see an upgrade to the point chart for that resort specifically with the new villas.

Do DVC point charts change?
Yes, DVC point charts do change from year to year. The overall amount of points at each resort does not change unless an additional building is constructed or an existing one is refurbished into official DVC villas. What does change with DVC point charts is the travel periods or set of dates point values are governed by. These dates are set up based on demand. Disney can adjust travel periods as they see fit for anticipated demand. Another change that you may see on a DVC point chart from one year to the next is how many points you need for each travel period. As an example for both of these let’s look at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort from 2022 to 2023. In 2022, February 1st to 15th, June 11th to August 31st, October 1st to November 22nd and November 26th to November 30th were all considered one travel period, seemingly with moderate demand based on its placement on the chart. During this time, a Deluxe Studio room with a Standard View was 19 points per night. In 2023, this same place on the chart includes just two time periods: February 1st to 15th and June 11th to August 31st. For the same room style, it’s down one to 18 points. These are the kind of fluctuations it’s common to see across the board: slight travel period adjustments and a few points difference here and there.
DVC Travel Periods on Point Charts
What’s interesting is that if you look at the west coast travel periods, at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Resort, you’ll notice they are completely different than those at Walt Disney World Resort. The two Disney destinations have different types of visitors. Disneyland attracts many more locals and day visitors and the base of Disney World visitors is travelers and those on vacation. This changes busy times and when demand is strongest.
