DVC Raises Prices for Lowest Cost Resorts at Disney World

DVC Raises Prices for Lowest Cost Resorts at Disney World

It’s rumored that Disney Vacation Club plans to raise direct prices for Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas. Apparently per point prices are going up to $200 per point starting tomorrow. A DVC fan said a Disney Vacation Club Guide shared this information with them regarding pricing. This is a $20 per point price hike for Old Key West and Saratoga Springs and a $14 increase for Animal Kingdom.

Old Key West and Saratoga Springs were previously sold for $180 per point direct while Animal Kingdom was $186. The next highest per point price at a DVC resort at Walt Disney World was $190 for Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This would now be the only Disney Vacation Club Resort at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida to not meet or exceed $200 per point in price when buying direct.

There are DVC resorts in other locations that are under $200 per point. For direct prices, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is priced at $125 per point and Disney’s Hilton Head Island is $155 per point. These lower prices might seem exciting but as a best practice you should always purchase at a resort where you’re interested in staying. The eleven month Home Resort booking advantage can really make a difference.

Disney Vacation Club does not clearly list per point prices for all of the resorts online. It’s easier to find prices for the resorts that Disney is actively selling as per point prices and savings are highlighted during limited time specials. However, if you’re interested in purchasing at a sold out resort like Disney’s Old Key West Resort, you would need to talk to a Disney Vacation Club Guide directly to get information on pricing and availability. As of the time this post was written, DisneyVacationClub.com membership costs are said to start at a Purchase Price of $207.00 per Point starting at $31,050 for 150 Vacation Points. This price refers to the resorts Disney is actively selling at this price which are Disney’s Riviera Resort and Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa.
