After the holidays, Disney Plus’s new releases have hit a little dry spell..until NOW! March is the month for fresh content on our favorite streaming platform. Disney is springing some new soon to be household favorites onto its service and we cannot wait to see what blooms up throughout the month. The dry spell is over, and you know Disney…when it rains, it pours magic. Keep your eyes out for these new hits!
March 2: West Side Story
Steven Spielberg’s 2021 rendition of the classic romantic musical tale, West Side Story, will be dancing on the Disney Plus streaming streets on March 2. The film includes the original Maria played by Rita Moreno who starred in the 1961 original film, directed by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins.
March 11: Pixar’s Turning Red
This one is probably the month’s most anticipated movie to hit the DP streaming service. From the creative minds that brought you The Incredibles and Inside Out now brings you Turning Red. This film is going to help you unleash your wild side in this coming of age animated film that follows 13 year old Mei Lee. She’s your average spunky protagonist…who happens to turn into a big red panda when she gets too excited. (so maybe not so average) No one captures the humor and heartache of growing up like Disney, and we are looking forward to laughing and possibly tearing up with Miss Mei Lee on the 11th.
March 16: Disney transfers over Netflix Marvel Shows
That’s right, all Marvel shows that were once on Netflix are now on Disney Plus, and from the looks of it, they are here to stay. Your fan favorites including: Jessica Jones, Daredevil, The Punisher, (possibly Deadpool), and many others of Marvel’s binge worthy shows will be fighting their way onto DP this month.
March 18: Cheaper by The Dozen
Gabrielle Union and Zach Braff take a spin at recreating the 2003 hit classic, Cheaper by the Dozen. The film will showcase the hilarious moments of parenting their beautiful blended family, all while Gabrielle and Zach try to stay sane. We bet you laugh more than a dozen times during this one.
March 30: Marvel’s Moon Knight
Oscar Issac will star in the eagerly awaited season of Marvel’s Moon Knight. Characters Steven Grant and Marc Spector will unveil the hidden mysteries and secrets of Egyptian gods…the Marvel world cannot wait for this one, and neither can we.
Anastasia’s Temporary Vacation
Due to contracting issues with Starz and pre-existing contracts before the birth of Disney Plus, Anastasia will be taken off of Disney Plus in the month of March in the US. The Walt Disney World Company wants it to be made clear that the removal of this movie has nothing to do with the crisis involving Russia and Ukraine. Anastasia is the lost daughter of a Russian Emperor, and Disney wants to make sure that it’s viewers know that the removal of the classic animated film had nothing to do with today’s current events. Anastasia will be streaming on Starz starting March 18. The WDW Company is in talks to create another contract to get the film back on Disney Plus once it’s contract with Starz expires.
