It’s 2024 and a lot has changed with Disney Vacation Club. New resorts and expansions keep popping up. The ROFR DVC 2024 annual stats are looking much different than last year already. For the calendar year of 2023, DVC Resale Experts had zero ROFR DVC buybacks. That streak broke in February of this year with our first buyback after thirteen months. In 2024, Disney is buying contracts back more frequently for Right of First Refusal. Still, just a small number of DVC Resale Experts sales are not going through due to ROFR this calendar year. This makes it a great time to buy if you’re concerned about the Right of First Refusal. Here are the resorts you need to be most aware of with resale DVC ROFR this year.

While Disney Vacation Club doesn’t share specifics about why they buy what they buy, we can assume there’s some kind of strategy. This is not a transparent process. Disney simply comes to their decision and it’s a yes or a no. What we can be more sure of is the price Disney is willing to pay per point for a certain resort. Is Disney buying back at the Polynesian for ROFR?
We would not be surprised at all if DVC buys back at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. With the new Island Tower at the Polynesian, it makes sense for DVC to want a decent stock at this resort, even with the expanded capacity. Surely people will be drawn to these new room styles and views!
Disney has confirmed that the Island Tower is part of the existing home resort at the Polynesian. That means you can purchase a Polynesian DVC resale contract and get the home resort booking advantage for these brand new accommodations.
Is Disney buying back at Disney’s Old Key West Resort for ROFR?
We now have Disney’s Old Key West Resort on the ROFR DVC 2024 list with quite a few buybacks in 2024. This is a lower priced options at $205 per point direct. It’s also one of the DVC properties that expire in 2042.

Is Disney buying back at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa for ROFR?
A handful of the DVC Resale Experts buybacks this year have been at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Based on the month after month statistics, we might expect this to continue to be a popular ROFR DVC buyback.
Which resorts are popular for ROFR DVC 2024 buybacks?
So far we have just a few popular ROFR DVC resorts. We will update as this changes.

- The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
- Disney’s Old Key West Resort
This is different from what we saw in 2022 with the following resorts having buybacks every month or close to it during that time period:

Resale is Rare at Newer Resorts
We don’t typically see DVC resale contracts listed at newer resorts. It usually take a few years for someone to decide to sell. With newer resorts we don’t really see a lot of buybacks. For example, Disney’s Riviera Resort was built in 2019. The Experts have sold plenty of Riviera contracts over the last few years but have not had any bought back by ROFR DVC.
