A lot changed with Disney Vacation Club in 2024. New resorts and expansions kept popping up. The ROFR DVC 2024 annual stats are looking much different than the year prior. For the calendar year of 2023, DVC Resale Experts had zero ROFR DVC buybacks. That streak broke in February of 2024 with our first buyback after thirteen months. In 2024, Disney bought contracts back more frequently for the Right of First Refusal. Still, just a small number of DVC Resale Experts sales did not go through due to ROFR this calendar year. While Disney Vacation Club doesn’t share specifics about why they buy what they buy, we can assume there’s some kind of strategy. This is not a transparent process. Disney simply comes to their decision and it’s a yes or a no. What we can be more sure of is the price Disney is willing to pay per point for a certain resort. Resale is Rare at Newer Resorts
We don’t typically see DVC resale contracts listed at newer resorts. It usually take a few years for someone to decide to sell. With newer resorts we don’t really see a lot of buybacks. For example, Disney’s Riviera Resort was built in 2019. The Experts have sold plenty of Riviera contracts over the last few years but have not had any bought back by ROFR DVC.
