Understanding DVC Point Charts
To go over point chart basics, we’ll use Disney’s Beach Club Resort point chart as an example. First consider the different travel periods throughout the year. These different time frames are based on demand and the anticipated level of busyness overall. The lowest point value travel periods are up top. It basically gets more expensive as you go from top to bottom, ending with Christmas week and the peak spring break time period. On the top of the graphic you’ll see the different room styles at the resort you’re looking at. For Beach Club there are the Deluxe Studio, One Bedroom Villa and Two Bedroom Villa options. In between are the different categories of nights. Whether you stay on a weeknight or weekend night makes a difference. You can also see the cost in points for weekly stays during different travel periods throughout the year. DVC is flexible and Members can use their points at other resorts outside of their home resort in most cases. The exception is Disney’s Riviera Resort for those who purchase resale.
