Where is Moana at Disney World?
Many fans want to know what there is to see of Moana at Disney World in 2024. As of now there is not a Moana ride. Based on Disney announcements, that could be one of the next big rides to debut at the Orlando parks though. There is a character you can meet or see, a walk through Moana attraction, hotel rooms themed to the film and, of course, merchandise.

Where can you meet Moana at Animal Kingdom?
The beloved Moana meets guests every day of the week at Animal Kingdom. This is the most reliable place to meet Moana at Disney World. Moana is at Character Landing in the Discovery Island area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. On the Disney map, the Moana Animal Kingdom meet and greet is shown to be across from Flame Tree Barbecue.

Moana usually appears in the morning, takes a midday break and finishes up in the early evening. Sample times for meeting Moana at Animal Kingdom in May of 2024 are 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Check the Disney site for updated information on your visit as these times and meet and greets change. Moana will not meet with guests outdoors if there is rain or lightning.
Where can you meet Moana at Epcot?
Disney says this of meeting Moana at Epcot: “..her voyages may bring her to World Nature from time to time. Be on the lookout for this wayfinder from Motunui near the entrance to Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana—and enjoy a special visit with her.”

Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is the walk through attraction themed to the film. There is a little meet and greet area outside of the attraction, under what looks like a sail, where Moana can sometimes be found. However, times are not shared for her appearance in the app so it can be tricky to plan for. You may see a sign next to where she meets with her times for the day. The location where Moana meets in Epcot is typically not open when it’s dark or if there is inclement weather.
The cast members in the area, especially at Journey of Water, may be able to tell you if and when Moana will be sailing in to meet friends at Epcot.

Where is Moana at Magic Kingdom?
There is currently no Moana meet and greet at Magic Kingdom. However, you can see her in a small parade type appearance at this park.
You can also hear her in the firework show Happily Ever After each night. Moana is projected on the castle during this part. There is a Moana section in the show featuring a close to the film version of the song How Far I’ll Go sung by Auli’i Cravalho. At times there has been a firework with this that looked like Maui’s hook!
See Moana in the Adventure Friends Cavalcade at Magic Kingdom
You can just see Moana passing by in a cavalcade at Magic Kingdom. This is a type of entertainment drive by that took over for other entertainment during the pandemic to discourage people from forming crowds. A cavalcade is like one float of a parade with lots of characters on or around it.
The Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade takes the regular parade route starting in Frontierland and working its way toward the front of the park down Main Street, U.S.A. You can see other characters like Mirabel and Bruno from Encanto, Miguel from Coco, Princess Elena of Avalor and José Carioca in this cavalcade too.
The Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade happens at 5:10 p.m. and 6:25 p.m some days and at 10:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m other days. Times for this change often so check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit for up to date appearance times.
Rainy Day Cavalcade at Magic Kingdom
If it rains and a parade or regular cavalcade is not possible, the characters sometimes make a special appearance in what is called the Rainy Day Cavalcade at Magic Kingdom. This is a sort of waterproof version of a cavalcade where the characters drive by in a covered vehicle. Moana appears in the Rainy Day Cavalcade at Magic Kingdom.
Is Moana at Hollywood Studios?
During the nighttime spectacular Fantasmic! Moana has her own scene. The wayfinder sails in after Pocahontas, Mulan, Aladdin and Elsa. This is part of the Heroes segment that was added in 2022 when the show reopened after the pandemic. Moana also sails by with all of the characters during the Fantasmic! finale. However, Moana does not meet guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

For now, there is just a Moana attraction at Epcot but no ride at Disney World. The Moana attraction at Epcot is called Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. This interactive trail walks guests through the water cycle in creative ways. It’s fun during the day but very pretty at night too. There is a dry path for those looking to way find away from the water.
Disney has mentioned, and even shown concept art for, a potential Moana ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This would be in an area replacing Dinoland that’s themed to what Disney is calling the Tropical Americas.

Is there a Moana ride at Animal Kingdom?
There could be a Moana ride at Disney World soon. The idea is that Dinoland U.S.A. will be transformed into a brand new land themed to the Tropical Americas with multiple attractions. This region to Disney refers to countries in South America but uses inspiration from Moana and other films like Encanto and Indiana Jones.
Does Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique have Moana?
Your little one can enjoy a makeover and dress up like Moana at Disney’s special salon for children. The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is located inside the ground floor of Cinderella Castle inside Magic Kingdom. You must have a park ticket in order to gain entry for a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience. These makeovers are popular. Book a reservation in advance for a guaranteed spot.
The Disney boutique packages can include hairstyling, shimmering makeup with a face gem, Princess sash and cinch bag, nail polish and a Moana outfit and coordinating accessories. Shoes are available for purchase.
Makeovers are for guests between 3 and 12 years of age and must be accompanied by an adult. Up to two guests can join to see the transformation.
Is there a Disney Moana hotel?
Disney resort hotels continue to have characters included into their remodels after refurbishment. Is there a Disney Moana hotel theme happening anywhere? Over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Moana is a big inspiration.
The store upstairs in the lobby is named Moana Mercantile. There is usually a nice selection of Moana merchandise here including items like Pua plush and Moana outfits for children.
The standard hotel rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort are now Moana themed rooms. Maui wall paper, detailed lighting elements and colorful Hei Hei art fill the room.
The existing DVC rooms, Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, do not have Moana-themed rooms. The Island Tower DVC Polynesian expansion is not yet open and we haven’t see renderings for those rooms yet. We will have to wait to see their theme and if Moana is included or not.
Can you meet Maui at Disney?
There is no Maui meet and greet at Disney World. No other characters from the film meet guests or make appearances in the parks at Disney World.
Is there a Moana character meal?
There is not a Moana character meal at Disney World. Sometimes character meals are themed to a certain group of characters like Mickey and pals various places or Winnie the Pooh friends at The Crystal Palace. None of the Disney character meals at resorts or parks are themed to Moana.
Can you meet Moana at a Disney character meal?
While there are Disney Princess themed character meals, Moana does not appear at any of them. You currently can not meet Moana at a character meal at Disney World.
Moana 2 Release Date: When does Moana 2 come out?
Moana 2, the follow up sequel to the original animated film, comes out November 27th, 2024. This is just over 8 years after the first Moana film debuted in theaters. Moana 2 is also not to be confused with the live action Moana film that’s also in the works. The live action Moana was moved from June 27th, 2025 to a new release date of July 10th, 2026.
The original Moana voice actress Auli’i Cravalho returns for Moana 2 along with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson who will reprise his role as Maui. Dwayne Johnson will produce and star in the live action Moana movie but Auli’i Cravalho will not play Moana in this version.

Disney has transformed busses over the last few years to include character art like Moana and Pua sailing together.
The characters of Moana have also been incorporated into snacks like a Hei Hei cone frozen treat.
During the Easter season, many resorts put up chocolate egg displays. Both Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort featured Moana eggs. Yacht Club’s entire chocolate Easter egg display was themed to Moana in 2024.
